An Inventory of ILO-IPEC's Contribution to the fight against child labour in Kenya

Kenya was one of the first generation countries to participate in the International Labour Organization¿s International Programme on Elimination of Child Labour activities. In the runner up to the establishment of IPEC, the Kenya Government solicited the support of ILO to establish the actual situation on child labour in the country. The inventory would also document ILO‐IPEC¿s contribution to the fight against child labour.

Paper No. 4 of four papers synthesizing the knowledge and experiences acquired from the ILO-IPEC project "West African Cocoa and Commercial Agriculture Project to Combat Hazardous and Exploitive Child Labour" (WACAP), which was implemented in Cameroon,Côte d¿Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea and Nigeria from 2002 to 2006. This paper summarizes the experiences, outcomes and lessons learned from setting up community-based child labour monitoring in Côte d¿Ivoire and Ghana.

Regional guidelines for special protection in cases of the repatriation of child victims of trafficking

The purpose of these document is to foster cooperation among Regional Conference on Migration (RCM) Member States and provide guidance on how to proceed when a child victim of trafficking is discovered, as well as actions to transfer and repatriate the victim, if it is deemed appropriate and in the best interests of the child. It is a concrete tool that seeks to encourage synergy among RCM countries, while struggling to ensure the protection of the human rights of victims of trafficking.

Child labour: cause and effect of the perpetuation of poverty

The general objective of this investigation is to formulate recommendations so that the issue of child labour is considered explicitly by the Latin American countries in their national development/reduction of poverty strategies before the international commitments on this matter.
