News | 25 August 2020
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of its Cooperatives Unit (COOP), the ILO launched a call for papers for an ILO COOP 100 Symposium. By the deadline for submission (August 15), a total of 32 submissions were received from researchers in leading research centers and universities and practitioners in cooperatives and wider social and solidarity economy (SSE) organizations around the world. The topics of the papers received ranged from legal and policy frameworks, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to decent work in the rural economy and human-centered approach to the future of work. The decisions regarding the selected papers for presentation in the symposium will be communicated to all the participants by September 30, 2020. The program of the event will also be announced on the ILO COOP webpage. The format and the dates of the symposium, currently scheduled for November 16 and 17, will be confirmed shortly in adherence with the measures around the COVID-19 pandemic.
