ILO COOP Centenary Launch Webinar

A webinar to launch the 100th Anniversary of the ILO's Cooperatives Unit will be held on the actual date when the decision to establish the Section of Co-operation was adopted during the third session of the ILO's Governing Body in 1920.

The webinar will be organized on March 23rd between 13:30 and 15:00 (CET). This is the actual date when the decision to establish the Section of Co-operation was adopted during the third session of the ILO's Governing Body in 1920. Georges Fauquet was then appointed as the first Chief of the ILO's Section of Co-operation in June 1920.

This launch event will provide an opportunity to reflect on the ILO’s contributions to the development of cooperatives and the wider social and solidarity economy (SSE) across time. Speakers will deliberate on the history and future of cooperatives and the growing interest in the SSE. A report highlighting cooperative innovations in responding to the refugee crises will also be launched during this meeting.
