    In the lead up to COP28, G7 countries, in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and German cooperation (GIZ/BMZ), convened a virtual knowledge exchange on November 13 to present their international cooperation strategies and programmes related to just transitions and green jobs.

  3. Joint IMO/ILO Conference on Work at Sea

    The Conference will focus on sharing best practices, views and experiences on: ensuring the rights of seafarers and fishers; identifying gaps in the current regulatory framework, including in relation to responsible management; and exploring how governments, industry, IGOs and NGOs can collaborate to improve the relevant international maritime legal framework.

  4. Complexities of local peace: climate change, forced displacement and decent work

    The workshop will identify challenges, opportunities and lessons learned in working with forcibly displaced populations and host communities to address climate change, inclusivity, food systems resilience and decent work.

    As 500 statisticians from around the world attend the 21st International Conference of Labour Statisticians at the ILO in Geneva, this World of Work Show explored the crucial role played by labour market data in creating better economies and better lives. The Show also took you behind the scenes of the #CoffeePeople campaign, which aims to promote and maintain safe and healthy working conditions within the global coffee supply chain.

    The ILO, together with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), UN Women and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), and the GCC Executive Bureau co-hosted a workshop with representatives of the six GCC governments (United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, State of Qatar and State of Kuwait) to discuss legislation, policies, reforms, good practices and remaining challenges in addressing issues around ‘unexplained absences’ from the workplace.
